Nigeria: Terrorism - Sultan Defends Islam - AllAfrica.com

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar have risen in stout defense mechanism of Islamism insisting that Islamic faith have no nexus with terrorism across the globe.

"Islam is a peaceful faith and it preaches peace and love for one another irrespective of folk spiritual and ethnical differences," Abubakar said.

In a message to tag Eid-El-Kabir, Abubakar called on security agents to rush the probe of those arrested on terrorism charges.

"Anyone establish guilty should be charged to tribunal for the law to take its course, while those who are establish guiltless should be put free,"

"Any Moslem who follows the instruction of his faith would not acquire involved in terrorism act," he said.

The Sultan called on Muslims to not only esteem the rights of their chap Muslims, also non-Muslims living with them as well.

He also urged them to beef up their religion in Supreme Being by adhering strictly to His commandments for their blessings.

Abubakar also charged them to give alms-giving to the destitute and people living with them.

He called on the three grades of authorities to give precedence to the issues of poorness and education.
