Science vs. religion debate is about control

I have got a great doctor. I define great as far as docs are concerned by the amount of attention they give their patients and also by the amount of honorable concern they have got about getting their patients better.

My soapbox have nil to make with Dr. Michael Yager, per say. It just so haps that while discussing organic chemical scientific discipline with him today (yes I am a nerd), an reply to the faith vs. science argument broke through to my scruples mind. It dawned on me that the existent argument have nil to make with how faith is holding back the March of science, or for that substance how wicked development is turning our children into soulless commies.

This idea came to mind because I was able to discourse peptide chemical bonds in proteins with my physician without once deferring to Supreme Being or evolution. It turns out, that excluding such as subjects as archaeology and anthropology, the issue of Supreme Being in scientific discipline is really a non-issue for all but maybe .001 percentage of science.

I can just as easily speak about sending a adult male or adult female to Red Planet with a born-again Christian as I could with a die-hard atheist. They would both usage Newtonian Physics (you know, the mass bes military unit divided by acceleration material that is used from everything from putting debris in space to making your auto manage corners better), and the inquiry of faith would not come up up.

This implores the question, why all the ballyhoo on this issue? The atheistic scientific discipline people believe that if the spiritual "nut jobs" have got their way, scientific discipline is doomed. On the other prehensile hand, the spiritual fiends among us state that our state is doomed from the Godless host unless "intelligent design" is not set in every school textual matter book.

In my option, the existent issue is not one of good scientific discipline vs. good faith but one of control. Who will the state expression up to? Who will have got the last word? The spiritual folks desire the population to look to them for replies and thereby be in control. The scientific discipline people desire the same. The 1s who are drawing the lines in the sand are less concerned about the amount and quality of scientific discipline instruction our children are getting but rather who acquires to be in control. The same manner animate beings grade there territory, so, too, make these insecure fabricated intellects and insincere spiritual leadership effort to tag the heads of our hereafter generations.

If you are worried, learn your children that we make not always have got to hold with a instructor or a text. I establish this to be more than than true in college, and I have got a 3.56 GPA. In other words, it doesn't ache to disagree. Just learn your children to make the research and back up their ideas. The small amount of development that is actually taught in school scientific discipline subjects, such as as chemistry, biology, physical science and maths will not have got got an impact on what a kid is taught at home.

As parents and citizens, we cannot autumn for this squabble; we must concentrate on our children's instruction and our country's future, and have a little spot of religion on both sides.
